Cross-listed Courses and Simple Syllabus
Are you planning on cross-listing (merging) your courses and use Simple Syllabus? Then please note the following information about using the Simple Syllabus tool in cross-listed courses within Canvas:
When the Simple Syllabus tool is enabled in cross-listed courses, only the parent section will receive the syllabus template. Submitting for review and upon approval will mark only the parent section as complete, and only the parent section's syllabus will be published. Sections nested under the parent will remain with a status of ‘Not Started’ in Simple Syllabus and will not be published.
In order to comply with state requirements and maintain consistency, faculty members are expected to complete the syllabi for their cross-listed sections by visiting mdc.simplesyllabus.com and addressing the ‘To Do’ items listed there.
This announcement is a reminder to ensure all course sections are adequately prepared and syllabi are submitted as required.
