Zoom Meeting Missing from Course or Passcode

If your course is online and you do not see a Zoom meeting link in Canvas, or you are missing the meeting passcode, follow the steps below.

Solution:

  1. Contact Your Instructor:
    • Missing Zoom Meeting Link: If you do not see the Zoom meeting in Canvas, reach out to your instructor for details.
    • Missing Passcode: Zoom meeting IDs and passcodes are unique to each course and are provided by your instructor. They are typically included in the Zoom meeting invitation or mentioned in the course syllabus. If you cannot locate the meeting ID or passcode, contact your instructor directly.
  2. Check Your Student Email:
    • Regularly check your student email for any messages from your instructor, as meeting details, including the Zoom link and passcode, may have been sent there.

Cannot join Zoom meeting - Disable Pop-Up Blocker

How to Disable Pop-Up Blocker when using Zoom:
A web browser Pop-up blocker is a feature to prevent new internet windows from opening, and their general use is to block ads from interrupting you while visiting a page. Most browsers enable pop-up blocking by default. But occasionally you may need to disable your pop-up blocker to allow important information, like the Zoom to open in a new window.

Chrome (Desktop): How to Disable Pop-Up Blocker
1. Open your Chrome browser
2. In the upper right-hand corner, click the three vertical dots, then select Settings
3. Scroll down to “Privacy and security” and select Site Settings
4. Select Pop-ups and redirects
5. At the top of the menu, toggle the setting to Allowed to disable the pop-up blocker

Firefox (Desktop): How to Disable Pop-Up Blocker
1. Open your Firefox browser
2. Click the Menu button, then select Options
3. Select Privacy & Security
4. Under Permissions, uncheck Block pop-up windows to disable the pop-up blocker
Also specific to Firefox you will have to disable enhanced tracking

Edge (Desktop): How to Disable Pop-Up Blocker
1. Open your Microsoft Edge browser
2. Click the Settings and more ( ) button
3. Select Settings
4. Click on the Privacy & security ( ) button
5. Under Security, move the Block pop-ups toggle to off to disable the pop-up blocker

Safari (Mac): How to Disable Pop-Up Blocker
1. Open the Safari app on your Mac
2. Choose Safari > Preferences, then click Websites
3. Select Pop-up Windows
4. Use the When visiting other websites drop-down menu and select Allow to disable
the pop-up blocker
iPhone/iOS: How to Disable Pop-Up Blocker

Safari for iOS:
1. On your iOS device, open the Settings menu
2. Select Safari
3. Slide Block Pop-ups to off (white) to disable pop-up blocking

Chrome for iOS:
1. On your iOS device, open the Chrome app
2. Tap More > Settings
3. Tap Content Settings, then tap Block Pop-ups
4. Turn Block Pop-ups off to allow pop-ups

Android: How to Disable Pop-Up Blocker
Chrome:
1. On your Android device, open the Chrome app
2. Tap More > Settings
3. Tap Site settings, then Pop-ups and redirects
4. Turn Pop-ups and redirects on to allow pop-ups
